{"id":58717,"date":"2015-07-02T13:00:28","date_gmt":"2015-07-02T13:00:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=1ce4468646ff01e1a6eb11640c89fde5"},"modified":"2015-07-02T13:00:28","modified_gmt":"2015-07-02T13:00:28","slug":"news-story-competition-and-markets-authority-appoints-head-of-enforcement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=58717","title":{"rendered":"News story: Competition and Markets Authority appoints head of enforcement"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/competition-and-markets-authority\">Competition and Markets Authority (<abbr title=\"Competition and Markets Authority\">CMA<\/abbr>)<\/a> has appointed Dr Michael Grenfell to its board as the new Executive Director for Enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>The appointment will see Michael lead front-line delivery of the <abbr title=\"Competition and Markets Authority\">CMA<\/abbr>\u2019s work on Competition Act cases, criminal cartels and consumer enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>Michael is currently Senior Director for Sector Regulation and Concurrency at the <abbr title=\"Competition and Markets Authority\">CMA<\/abbr>. He brings to the role 25 years\u2019 experience as a competition lawyer in leading City and international law firms. <\/p>\n<p>Business Secretary Sajid Javid said: <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">I am pleased to announce that Michael will be bringing his wealth of experience in competition law to the <abbr title=\"Competition and Markets Authority\">CMA<\/abbr> Board.
