{"id":58837,"date":"2015-07-07T09:50:48","date_gmt":"2015-07-07T09:50:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=8bef0c31bccd35296d4c236aacb9e68e"},"modified":"2015-07-07T09:50:48","modified_gmt":"2015-07-07T09:50:48","slug":"press-release-work-starts-to-repair-purfleet-seawall-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=58837","title":{"rendered":"Press release: Work starts to repair Purfleet seawall"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The defences, which are a sheet piled flood wall, reduce the risk of flooding to people and 4305 properties in Purfleet. <\/p>\n<p>Damaged sections of concrete blocks, which protect the coast from erosion, will be repaired to restore them to their original condition. <\/p>\n<p>Graham Verrier, Environment Agency flood risk manager said: <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Whilst the existing defences were damaged during the 2013 tidal surge, they still did their job of reducing the risk of flooding to people and properties in Purfleet.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-child\">However, we need to be confident that potential flooding can be withstood for many years to come which is why this work is so important.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The work, which will involve a floating barge, is expected to take 3 months to complete.
