{"id":59232,"date":"2015-07-16T09:47:24","date_gmt":"2015-07-16T09:47:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=e01f9142f2a927c7c597f38d8df435b8"},"modified":"2015-07-16T09:47:24","modified_gmt":"2015-07-16T09:47:24","slug":"news-story-rohs-additional-restricted-substances","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=59232","title":{"rendered":"News story: RoHS: Additional restricted substances"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Following a review of the list of restricted substances under the Restriction on the use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive[<abbr title=\"Restriction on the use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive\">RoHS<\/abbr>], the European Commission has now published Commission Delegated Directive (EU) 2015\/863. This legislation provides an amendment to Annex II of <abbr title=\"Restriction on the use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive\">RoHS<\/abbr> (2011\/65\/EU) and confirms the inclusion of four new restricted substances.<\/p>\n<p>The additional substance restrictions and maximum concentration values (outlined below) will come into force from 22 July 2019:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tbis (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) (0.1 %)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tbutyl benzyl phthalate (BBP) (0.1 %)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tdibutyl phthalate (DBP) (0.1 %)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tdiisobutyl phthalate (DIBP) (0.1 %)<\/p>\n<p>For medical devices (including in vitro medical devices), monitoring and control instruments (inclusive of industrial monitoring and control instruments) the restrictions will apply from 22 July 2021.<\/p>\n<p>For toys that fall under the scope of <abbr title=\"Restriction on the use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive\">RoHS<\/abbr>, the legislation permits those restrictions under Annex XVII of the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) Regulation to take precedence over <abbr title=\"Restriction on the use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive\">RoHS<\/abbr> restrictions.<\/p>\n<p>Dependent upon when the product was placed on the market, the new restrictions will not affect the use of cables and spare parts for repairing products.<\/p>\n<p>More information can be found on the <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/environment\/waste\/rohs_eee\/legis_en.htm\">European Commission website.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Four new substances restricted under the RoHS Directive.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":8,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[13],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/59232"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/8"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=59232"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/59232\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=59232"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=59232"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=59232"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
