{"id":59274,"date":"2015-07-16T15:18:02","date_gmt":"2015-07-16T15:18:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=d9a1ef16b45014578a43a82c63ab621c"},"modified":"2015-07-16T15:18:02","modified_gmt":"2015-07-16T15:18:02","slug":"news-story-review-of-the-medco-system","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=59274","title":{"rendered":"News story: Review of the MedCo system"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The MedCo online portal became operational in April 2015 to enhance independence between those commissioning initial medical reports for whiplash claims and the medical experts who provide them.<\/p>\n<p>The system forms the latest stage of government work to tackle fraudulent and unnecessary whiplash claims and drive down the cost of motor insurance. <\/p>\n<p>In March the Government committed to reviewing the MedCo Portal, to make sure it was meeting its objectives and to consider its impact on the market. <\/p>\n<p>Justice Minister Lord Faulks said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>We want to make sure that claims are genuine and based on good quality, independent, expert evidence.
