{"id":59543,"date":"2015-07-23T13:30:18","date_gmt":"2015-07-23T13:30:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=84884942b374c5a8a3ff2e31ee4440c9"},"modified":"2015-07-23T13:30:18","modified_gmt":"2015-07-23T13:30:18","slug":"news-story-two-new-gas-power-stations-given-green-light","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=59543","title":{"rendered":"News story: Two new gas power stations given green light"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Energy and Climate Change Minister Lord Bourne has approved the construction of two gas-fired power generation plants by Progress Power Ltd in Eye, Suffolk, and by Hirwaun Power Limited near Aberdare in South Wales.<\/p>\n<p>Both sites will operate as \u2018peaking\u2019 plants; providing electricity when there is a surge in demand, or where there is a sudden drop in power being generated from other power plants. <\/p>\n<p>The construction of the plants will create up to 400 jobs, with around 30 permanent positions once they become operational. <\/p>\n<p>Energy Minister Lord Bourne said:  <\/p>\n<p>\u201cContinued investment is essential as we move the UK towards a cleaner energy future.
