{"id":59580,"date":"2015-09-01T23:00:00","date_gmt":"2015-09-01T23:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=8f152a2f3c7b3696d31ef3d4af95e470"},"modified":"2015-09-01T23:00:00","modified_gmt":"2015-09-01T23:00:00","slug":"news-story-how-does-the-minimum-wage-affect-you","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=59580","title":{"rendered":"News story: How does the minimum wage affect you?"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The Low Pay Commission (LPC) whose purpose is to provide advice to the Government on matters relating to all UK wage rates, including the recently announced National Living Wage is visiting Northern Ireland. <\/p>\n<p>Commissioners <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/low-pay-commission\/about#who-we-are\">John Hannett and Peter Donaldson<\/a> are meeting a number of organisations across different regions in Northern Ireland on 9 and 10 September to hear first &#8211; hand what impact the National Minimum Wage is having in this region. <\/p>\n<p>Peter Donaldson LPC Commissioner said \u201cListening and understanding the impact minimum wage rates have across the nations of the UK and in different business areas is vital to our research and informs our recommendations to the Government.  <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are keen to understand the impact that the minimum wage rates have in Northern Ireland and to meet with those affected\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>This is one of a number of visits the Low Pay Commission is making around the UK to gather information on how the minimum wage is operating and the impact it has on businesses and employers. Email: rosalind.hands@lowpay.gov.uk Tel 020 7211 8212 <\/p>\n<p>The National Minimum Wage for those aged 21 and over is \u00a36.50 per hour. For those aged 18 to 20 the rate is \u00a35.13 per hour. The minimum wage for 16 and 17 year olds is \u00a33.79 an hour.  The Apprentice Minimum Wage is \u00a32.73 per hour for those aged under 19 or in the first year of their apprenticeship. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How does the minimum wage affect you?
