{"id":59687,"date":"2015-07-28T10:00:10","date_gmt":"2015-07-28T10:00:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=8f685a9666f97cc056c970bb532f15d7"},"modified":"2015-07-28T10:00:10","modified_gmt":"2015-07-28T10:00:10","slug":"news-story-cma-confirms-rendering-merger-referral","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=59687","title":{"rendered":"News story: CMA confirms rendering merger referral"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/news\/rendering-merger-faces-in-depth-investigation-unless-undertakings-offered\">Earlier this month<\/a>, the Competition and Markets Authority (<abbr title=\"Competition and Markets Authority\">CMA<\/abbr>) said that it would refer the merger for an in-depth investigation unless <abbr title=\"Linergy Limited\">Linergy<\/abbr> offered acceptable undertakings to address the <abbr title=\"Competition and Markets Authority\">CMA<\/abbr>\u2019s competition concerns regarding the processing of animal by-products from non-fallen stock and fallen stock in Northern Ireland.<\/p>\n<p>After an initial decision identifying competition concerns, the acquirer has 5 working days in which to offer undertakings to address the <abbr title=\"Competition and Markets Authority\">CMA<\/abbr>\u2019s competition concerns in lieu of the reference. As <abbr title=\"Linergy Limited\">Linergy<\/abbr> has not offered undertakings in lieu, the <abbr title=\"Competition and Markets Authority\">CMA<\/abbr> will therefore now refer the merger.<\/p>\n<p>A decision on the merger will be made by a group of independent panel members supported by a case team of <abbr title=\"Competition and Markets Authority\">CMA<\/abbr> staff.
