{"id":59918,"date":"2015-08-03T14:37:00","date_gmt":"2015-08-03T14:37:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=1b2273a20ae27fdeb76e9a3a1380549c"},"modified":"2015-08-03T14:37:00","modified_gmt":"2015-08-03T14:37:00","slug":"news-story-unqualified-immigration-adviser-convicted","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=59918","title":{"rendered":"News story: Unqualified Immigration Adviser Convicted"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Mr Rais Nawaz Malik, 40, of Remedy Legal, Dudley Road, Birmingham, pleaded guilty at Birmingham Magistrates\u2019 Court on Monday 3rd August 2015, to two charges of providing unregulated immigration advice or services since May 2013. <\/p>\n<p>He was sentenced to a community order for 24 weeks, concurrent for each offence, and made subject to a curfew between 2000 hrs and 0600 hrs, with an electronic tag fitted, also for twenty four weeks\u2019. <\/p>\n<p>He was also ordered to pay compensation of \u00a34400 within fourteen days, for which a collection order was made.<\/p>\n<p>On sentencing, District Judge Crane said: <\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou have minimised the seriousness of what you have done. You weren\u2019t authorised and you misled your clients\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking about the decision, Immigration Services Commissioner, Suzanne McCarthy said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMr Malik chose to operate outside the law, and without regard for the protection of his clients.
