These drafts were prepared by <abbr title=\"National Measurement and Regulation Office\">NMRO<\/abbr> as UK Secretariat of <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/www.oiml.org\/en\/technical-work\/tc-sc\/scinfo_view?idsc=21&amp;sclabel=Automatic%20weighing%20instruments&amp;idtc=9&amp;tcnum=9&amp;tclabel=Instruments%20for%20measuring%20mass%20and%20density&amp;scnum=2\"><abbr title=\"International Organization of Legal Metrology\">OIML<\/abbr> TC9\/SC2 Automatic weighing instruments<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"call-to-action\">\n<p>Please review the <abbr title=\"International Organization of Legal Metrology\">OIML<\/abbr> <abbr title=\"automatic weighing instruments\">R 61<\/abbr> documents listed below and comment to help improve the drafts using the comment templates by 04 December 2015.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"main-changes-in-the-new-r-61-draft\">Main changes in the new <abbr title=\"automatic weighing instruments\">R 61<\/abbr> draft<\/h2>\n<p><abbr title=\"National Measurement and Regulation Office\">NMRO<\/abbr> implements contributions from the members of the <abbr title=\"International Organization of Legal Metrology\">OIML<\/abbr> working group. In particular, the following changes have been made in the new draft:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>increase in the frequency range for the \u2018Radiated, radio frequency electromagnetic immunity\u2019 test to 3000 MHz (up from 2 GHz) in order to cover the widely applied 2.45 GHz frequency as for Bluetooth and microwave ovens &#8211; tests have been updated in accordance with <abbr title=\"International Organization of Legal Metrology\">OIML<\/abbr> D 11: 2013 and the IEC 61000-4-3<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>the \u2018damp heat, cyclic (condensing)\u2019 test is a disturbance test (clause 10.3.1 in <abbr title=\"International Organization of Legal Metrology\">OIML<\/abbr> <abbr title=\"automatic weighing instruments\">R 61<\/abbr>-2) concerning instruments installed in locations where condensation and or when the penetration of vapour is significant<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>the following new tests are introduced for checking the performance of battery powered instruments:\n<ul>\n<li>tests for \u201cload dump\u201d (to check the performance of the instrument under voltage spikes or battery failure), <abbr title=\"International Organization of Legal Metrology\">OIML<\/abbr> <abbr title=\"automatic weighing instruments\">R 61<\/abbr>-2, clause 10.3.8<\/li>\n<li>battery voltage variations during starting up a vehicle engine, <abbr title=\"International Organization of Legal Metrology\">OIML<\/abbr> <abbr title=\"automatic weighing instruments\">R 61<\/abbr>-2, clause 10.3.9<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>the test for \u2018ripple on DC mains power\u2019 given in clause 10.3.8 of <abbr title=\"automatic weighing instruments\">R 61<\/abbr>-2 will check the performance of DC connected instrument under the introduction of a ripple on the DC mains voltage<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>annex E has been created using content from the <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/www.welmec.org\/latest\/guides\/28\/\">WELMEC Guide 2.8 &#8211; Guide for conversion of Non-automatic weighing instrument<\/a> (Indicator) test results for automatic weighing instruments purposes, providing examples of how to use <abbr title=\"International Organization of Legal Metrology\">OIML<\/abbr> <abbr title=\"automatic weighing instruments\">R 61<\/abbr>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"r-61-documents-for-review\">\n<abbr title=\"automatic weighing instruments\">R 61<\/abbr>
