{"id":60937,"date":"2015-09-02T15:13:57","date_gmt":"2015-09-02T15:13:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=7706f08e4b262db34967669bbcb29688"},"modified":"2015-09-02T15:13:57","modified_gmt":"2015-09-02T15:13:57","slug":"news-story-cma-completes-upload-of-all-oft-cases","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=60937","title":{"rendered":"News story: CMA completes upload of all OFT cases"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The final batch of approximately <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/cma-cases\">900 cases<\/a> includes merger decisions from 2003 to 2009 and Competition Act 1998 (<abbr title=\"Competition Act 1998\">CA98<\/abbr>) decisions from 2001 to 2009. Previously the Competition and Markets Authority (<abbr title=\"Competition and Markets Authority\">CMA<\/abbr>) uploaded 450 cases comprised of Office of Fair Trading (<abbr title=\"Office of Fair Trading\">OFT<\/abbr>) merger and <abbr title=\"Competition Act 1998\">CA98<\/abbr> decisions from 2010 to 2014, the <abbr title=\"Office of Fair Trading\">OFT<\/abbr>\u2019s criminal cartel and consumer enforcement casework and the <abbr title=\"Office of Fair Trading\">OFT<\/abbr>\u2019s market investigation references to the Competition Commission (<abbr title=\"Competition Commission\">CC<\/abbr>).<\/p>\n<p>The <abbr title=\"Office of Fair Trading\">OFT<\/abbr> cases join all 132 former <abbr title=\"Competition Commission\">CC<\/abbr> investigations dating back to 2003, which were added to the case directory earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p><abbr title=\"Office of Fair Trading\">OFT<\/abbr> cases that were completed before the <abbr title=\"Competition and Markets Authority\">CMA<\/abbr> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/news\/new-competition-authority-to-make-markets-work-well-for-consumers-business-and-the-economy\">came into existence in April 2014<\/a> had only been available on the archived <abbr title=\"Office of Fair Trading\">OFT<\/abbr> website. However, a survey we carried out with our web users indicated that these were difficult to locate so the process of transferring the archive was commenced.<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s action completes the uploading of the archived cases.<\/p>\n<p>There are a variety of ways to use the case directory to search for the <abbr title=\"Office of Fair Trading\">OFT<\/abbr> and <abbr title=\"Competition Commission\">CC<\/abbr> cases.
