To date, over 1,500 published studies have used <abbr title=\"Clinical Practice Research Datalink\">CPRD<\/abbr> data for research. <abbr title=\"Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency\">MHRA<\/abbr>\u2019s <a rel=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/yellowcard.mhra.gov.uk\/\">Yellow Card Scheme<\/a> collects information on suspected problems involving medical devices and licensed medicines. These data are also available for use in research. <\/p>\n<p>The Independent Scientific Advisory Committee provides advice to <abbr title=\"Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency\">MHRA<\/abbr> on proposals for research using data from <abbr title=\"Clinical Practice Research Datalink\">CPRD<\/abbr> and the Yellow Card Scheme. <abbr title=\"Independent Scientific Advisory Committee\">ISAC<\/abbr> reviews research applications for the use of <abbr title=\"Clinical Practice Research Datalink\">CPRD<\/abbr> and Yellow Card data. <abbr title=\"Independent Scientific Advisory Committee\">ISAC<\/abbr> members advise <abbr title=\"Clinical Practice Research Datalink\">CPRD<\/abbr> and <abbr title=\"Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency\">MHRA<\/abbr> on scientific and methodological issues relating to all applications for the use of <abbr title=\"Clinical Practice Research Datalink\">CPRD<\/abbr> and Yellow Card data. <\/p>\n<p>We are now looking for new expert scientific members to join <abbr title=\"Independent Scientific Advisory Committee\">ISAC<\/abbr>.
