Air to air refuelling (AAR) support was provided by an RAF Voyager aircraft from RAF Brize Norton.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"image embedded\">\n<div class=\"img\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Russian Blackjack intercept\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.digital.cabinet-office.gov.uk\/government\/uploads\/system\/uploads\/image_data\/file\/43591\/QRA2.jpg\"><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Squadron Leader Jim Calvert of II(AC) Squadron, RAF Lossiemouth flew one of the RAF Typhoons involved in the mission. He said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Given the Royal Air Force\u2019s enduring commitment to secure the UK\u2019s skies, yesterday\u2019s sortie once again proved Typhoon\u2019s capability to successfully scramble and intercept Russian long-range aviation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-child\">Protecting our skies is especially poignant in this 75th anniversary year of the Battle of Britain.
