A former President of the National Farmers Union of Scotland, he has, at various times, been a Director of Quality Meat Scotland, Moredun Research Institute and the NFU Mutual Insurance Society. <\/p>\n<p>He has served as Chairman of several associations and organisations; Scotch Quality Beef and Lamb Association, Dumfries and Galloway Health Board, Moredun Research Institute, NHS Dumfries and Galloway and the Moredun Foundation.
