We expect it could be busier than usual around the Severn Crossing, as fans travel to the game. With kick-off at 8pm, we anticipate busy periods a few hours before and after the game \u2013 as fans will be travelling alongside commuters at peak time.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve agreed to remove or delay roadworks to keep capacity on our roads to a maximum during the World Cup, and signage warning drivers of delays, as well as signposting directions to the stadium, is already in place.<\/p>\n

Mark Driscoll, Highways England\u2019s emergency planning manager for the south west, said:<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve been working hard for several months with partners such as the police, Severn River Crossing PLC and Traffic Wales to consider the impact of these events on routes into Wales.<\/p>\n

We are urging anyone taking routes via the Severn Crossing to consider potential delays due to the increased volumes of traffic at the toll booths, particularly on the afternoon and evening of Friday 2 October, when people making their way to the match are likely to be travelling at the same time as commuters during peak hours.<\/p>\n

Drivers should consider possibly delaying their journey, or travelling at an alternative time to peak hours, or a few hours prior to kick off time.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Drivers can plan and check travel conditions via Highways England\u2019s live traffic information website,<\/a> and fans can find venue transport information at the Rugby World Cup website.<\/a><\/p>\n
