Jeanne Watson has been appointed as a new member of the School Teachers\u2019 Review Body (STRB<\/abbr>). Jeanne took up the position earlier this month and will be in post for 3 years.<\/p>\n

The STRB<\/abbr> provides independent advice to the government on pay and conditions for teachers and school leaders in England and Wales. <\/p>\n

Dr Patricia Rice, Chair of the STRB<\/abbr> said:<\/p>\n

Appointment process<\/h2>\n

The appointment process was run in accordance with the Code of Practice issued by the Office of the Commissioner for Public Appointments<\/a> (OCPA) and was made on merit. Jeanne Watson confirmed that she has no political activity to declare and holds no other public appointments. \t<\/p>\n

Biography<\/h2>\n

Jeanne Watson was a secondary headteacher for 22 years. Her experience includes 16 years as the headteacher of The Brooksbank School in Calderdale, an 11 to 18 academy, as well as 2 positions as the Executive Headteacher in schools requiring support. Jeanne has also worked as the chair of Calderdale Secondary Heads Association with responsibility for school-to-school improvement, and she has extensive experience of partnership working, headteacher training and local authority management.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
