{"id":62727,"date":"2015-10-12T10:30:47","date_gmt":"2015-10-12T10:30:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=6d3f582b373c8fb939be983edc40ed0d"},"modified":"2015-10-12T10:30:47","modified_gmt":"2015-10-12T10:30:47","slug":"news-story-overseas-opportunities-for-uk-healthcare-providers-in-the-spotlight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=62727","title":{"rendered":"News story: Overseas opportunities for UK healthcare providers in the spotlight"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Around 100 UK healthcare providers participated in seminars on overseas business opportunities organised by Healthcare UK as part of <abbr title=\"National Health Service\">NHS<\/abbr> England\u2019s <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/www.england.nhs.uk\/expo\/expo15\">Health and Care Innovation Expo<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In 2014\/15,  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/healthcare-uk-overview-and-annual-review-april-2014-to-march-2015\">\u00a313 billion of opportunities<\/a> have been identified across Healthcare UK\u2019s 10 priority markets. Healthcare UK works with <abbr title=\"UK Trade and Investment\">UKTI<\/abbr>\u2019s overseas network to identify <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/high-value-opportunities\">high value opportunities<\/a> with an accessible value of over \u00a3250 million for UK organisations (representing a cumulative total of contract values rather than a single contract).<\/p>\n<p>Since Healthcare UK was established in 2013, it has assisted UK organisations to win healthcare contracts worth more than \u00a33 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Discussions with Healthcare UK experts covered opportunities in:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Saudi Arabia<\/li>\n<li>Turkey<\/li>\n<li>South East Asia<\/li>\n<li>China<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Participants heard directly from Mexico\u2019s Vice Minister of Health and the Health Minister from New Delhi\u2019s regional government the potential for partnership with <abbr title=\"National Health Service\">NHS<\/abbr> organisations in their countries.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"image embedded\">\n<div class=\"img\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Mexico presentation at the NHS Expo\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.digital.cabinet-office.gov.uk\/government\/uploads\/system\/uploads\/image_data\/file\/44752\/NHS_Expo_2015_Mexico_seminar_2.jpg\"><\/div><figcaption>Mikel Arriola, head of COFEPRIS, presents during the Mexico seminar<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Public sector organisations considering their international strategy were able to learn from colleagues already active overseas. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/www.kchcommercial.com\/index.html\">Kings College Hospital<\/a> has been working internationally with success for a number of years.
