{"id":63026,"date":"2015-10-20T09:44:41","date_gmt":"2015-10-20T09:44:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=cfe3d754c4a05685acf51cc9f90ab884"},"modified":"2015-10-20T09:44:41","modified_gmt":"2015-10-20T09:44:41","slug":"press-release-marcus-bryson-appointed-as-chairman-for-aerospace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=63026","title":{"rendered":"Press release: Marcus Bryson appointed as Chairman for Aerospace"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Business Minister Anna Soubry and Lord Maude of Horsham, Minister for Trade and Investment, today (20 October 2015) welcome Marcus Bryson, President of <a rel=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.adsgroup.org.uk\">ADS<\/a> and industry chair of the <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/www.theagp.aero\/\">Aerospace Growth Partnership<\/a> (<abbr title=\"Aerospace Growth Partnership\">AGP<\/abbr>), as Chairman for Aerospace, working together with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/groups\/bis-aerospace-marine-and-defence-sector-team\"><abbr title=\"Department for Business Innovation and Skills\">BIS<\/abbr> Aerospace<\/a> and <abbr title=\"UK Trade and Investment\">UKTI<\/abbr> sector teams, responsible for inward investment and exports.  <\/p>\n<p>Marcus will champion the UK aerospace sector in the UK and overseas, as well as helping drive delivery in line with the goals of the Aerospace Growth Partnership. He brings a wealth of business leadership experience to this new role having been Chief Executive of <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/www.gkn.com\/aerospace\/Pages\/default.aspx\">GKN Aerospace<\/a> since 2000 and also chairing the <abbr title=\"Aerospace Growth Partnership\">AGP<\/abbr>, which brings industry and government together to tackle barriers to growth, boost exports and grow high value jobs in the UK.<\/p>\n<p>This role of chairman will provide high level direction on exports and inward investment across aerospace teams at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (<abbr title=\"Department for Business Innovation and Skills\">BIS<\/abbr>) and UK Trade and Investment (<abbr title=\"UK Trade and Investment\">UKTI<\/abbr>). Further deepening the <abbr title=\"Aerospace Growth Partnership\">AGP<\/abbr> collaborative approach by bringing industry experience together with the <abbr title=\"Department for Business Innovation and Skills\">BIS<\/abbr> and <abbr title=\"UK Trade and Investment\">UKTI<\/abbr> teams will enhance policy and service delivery on exports and inward investment. This will enable government to provide better support for companies at all levels of the supply chain so that the UK remains Europe\u2019s leading aerospace nation.<\/p>\n<p>Anna Soubry welcomed the appointment :<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">Marcus brings with him a huge amount of industry expertise and knowledge, including leading GKN\u2019s Aerospace business and chairing the Aerospace Growth Partnership. Closer collaboration between the <abbr title=\"UK Trade and Investment\">UKTI<\/abbr> and <abbr title=\"Department for Business Innovation and Skills\">BIS<\/abbr> aerospace sector teams will help accelerate Britain\u2019s growth and boost the government\u2019s trade and investment ambitions.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Lord Maude said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">Having someone of Marcus\u2019 stature in the role of industry champion is immensely valuable and will connect the team closely to the goals of the <abbr title=\"Aerospace Growth Partnership\">AGP<\/abbr>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Marcus Bryson commented:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">The <abbr title=\"Aerospace Growth Partnership\">AGP<\/abbr> has been a tremendous success and I am proud to have led that work for industry over the past 5 years.
