{"id":63262,"date":"2015-10-26T11:48:00","date_gmt":"2015-10-26T11:48:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=62674aab58df1347f3f9f913580c577e"},"modified":"2015-10-26T11:48:00","modified_gmt":"2015-10-26T11:48:00","slug":"news-story-one-million-cigarettes-seized-by-border-force-at-hull","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=63262","title":{"rendered":"News story: One million cigarettes seized by Border Force at Hull"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The cigarettes had been shipped to the UK inside an unaccompanied trailer which arrived at the port from Rotterdam, Holland.<\/p>\n<p>Officers discovered the cigarettes hidden inside shrink wrapped boxes which were labelled as roofing materials. A total of 1,050,000 cigarettes were found.<\/p>\n<p>Mark Robinson, Border Force assistant director for the Humber Ports, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>This seizure is down to the vigilance of Border Force officers who regularly foil smuggling attempts like this.<\/p>\n<p>By stopping this shipment we have starved those responsible of the proceeds of their criminality.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-child\">I would urge anyone tempted by cheap cigarettes and tobacco to think again.
