{"id":63412,"date":"2015-10-29T09:51:23","date_gmt":"2015-10-29T09:51:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=361c790471eca2a5524c5dff213cddd5"},"modified":"2015-10-29T09:51:23","modified_gmt":"2015-10-29T09:51:23","slug":"government-response-planning-appeals-decision-mosque-in-the-london-borough-of-newham","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=63412","title":{"rendered":"Government response: Planning appeals decision: mosque in the London borough of Newham"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>A <abbr title=\"Department for Communities and Local Government\">DCLG<\/abbr> spokesman said: <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Ministers have today dismissed appeals on the refusal of planning permission for a mosque in the London borough of Newham.<\/p>\n<p>The decision was based on concerns that include local housing provision and conflict with the council\u2019s local plan for the borough.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-child\">It also took account of the evidence from all parties and is in line with the council\u2019s original determination and advice from the independent planning inspector on the main appeal.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2 id=\"further-information\">Further information<\/h2>\n<p>Three appeals on the proposed mosque in West Ham, Newham, East London have been dismissed by Department for Communities and Local Government ministers.<\/p>\n<p>The reasons for the decision are fully explained in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/recovered-appeal-land-at-riverine-centre-masjid-ilyas-canning-road-london-e15-3nd-ref-2198313-28-october-2015\">decision letter<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The main appeal was into refusal of planning permission for a large new mosque.<\/p>\n<p>A second appeal sought temporary permission to use the existing buildings as a place of worship in the event that the main appeal was not allowed.<\/p>\n<p>A third appeal was against an enforcement notice requiring the appellants to cease using the site as a place of worship.
