{"id":64233,"date":"2015-11-16T15:58:43","date_gmt":"2015-11-16T15:58:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=43adf8a043ac55b40c53bf504bdadaa3"},"modified":"2015-11-16T15:58:43","modified_gmt":"2015-11-16T15:58:43","slug":"news-story-200-million-investment-brings-best-of-british-healthcare-to-dubai","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=64233","title":{"rendered":"News story: $200 million investment brings best of British healthcare to Dubai"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (<abbr title=\"United Arab Emirates\">UAE<\/abbr>) is set to become home to an 80 to100 bed world-class hospital facility and several clinics which will all be fully integrated with King\u2019s College Hospital\u2019s facilities in London. <\/p>\n<p>This follows on from the successful launch of King\u2019s College Hospital\u2019s flagship <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/www.kchclinics.com\">Abu Dhabi clinic<\/a>, which recently celebrated its first anniversary.<\/p>\n<p>UK-based Ashmore Group plc will act as the investment manager for the $200 million project. Al Tayer Group and Dubai Investments PJSC are local equity partners in the project. <\/p>\n<p>Rt Hon Alistair Burt, Minister of State for Community and Social Care at the Department of Health said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">The UK public and private healthcare system is considered among the top in the world. We are extremely excited to expand British healthcare internationally, particularly within the <abbr title=\"United Arab Emirates\">UAE<\/abbr>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">Our long-standing ties with the <abbr title=\"United Arab Emirates\">UAE<\/abbr> will continue to strengthen with the presence of King\u2019s College Hospital and Clinics in Dubai, combined with the specialist emerging markets investment management experience of Ashmore Group plc.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2 id=\"new-healthcare-facilities\">New healthcare facilities<\/h2>\n<p>The first of the facilities to open their doors will be a number of clinics towards the end of 2016 and in 2017. <\/p>\n<p>This will be followed by the 80 to 100 bed multi-specialty King\u2019s College Hospital Dubai scheduled to open in 2018. The hospital will offer 4 main specialties as well as acute and general medical services<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>paediatrics<\/li>\n<li>endocrinology <\/li>\n<li>orthopaedics<\/li>\n<li>obstetrics and gynaecology<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In line with the existing operating model of the Abu Dhabi clinic, all staff and services will be fully integrated with King\u2019s College Hospital London to provide quality, evidence-based healthcare to the <abbr title=\"United Arab Emirates\">UAE<\/abbr>.
