The event was kindly hosted by SynbiCITE<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Jim Pennycook<\/a>, Head of Operations at CDE<\/abbr>, introduced CDE<\/abbr> and gave an overview of proof-of-concept research funding opportunities for innovative science and technology providers.<\/p>\n

Technical experts from Dstl<\/abbr> (the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory) provided specific information about the themed competition: synthetic biology for novel materials<\/a>. This competition has up to \u00a3750,000 available for fully funded phase-1 projects.<\/p>\n

Attendees were able to book a face-to-face meeting with CDE<\/abbr> and Dstl<\/abbr> subject matter experts to discuss potential proposals to the \u2018synthetic biology for novel materials\u2019 themed competition.<\/a> <\/p>\n

There were networking opportunities with other potential bidders, current Dstl<\/abbr> suppliers, CDE<\/abbr>, Dstl<\/abbr> and military experts.<\/p>\n
