{"id":64825,"date":"2015-12-01T11:02:34","date_gmt":"2015-12-01T11:02:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=ec18a1aec3c5074d5c76921f93d604ac"},"modified":"2015-12-01T11:02:34","modified_gmt":"2015-12-01T11:02:34","slug":"news-story-cma-accepts-bowling-remedy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=64825","title":{"rendered":"News story: CMA accepts bowling remedy"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>On 1 September 2015, the Competition and Markets Authority (<abbr title=\"Competition and Markets Authority\">CMA<\/abbr>) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/news\/cma-to-consider-proposed-undertakings-for-bowling-merger\">announced it would consider<\/a> in detail the undertakings proposed by The Original Bowling Company Ltd (<abbr title=\"The Original Bowling Company Ltd\">TOBC<\/abbr>).<\/p>\n<p><abbr title=\"The Original Bowling Company Ltd\">TOBC<\/abbr> has offered to sell 6 ten-pin bowling centres to Essenden Limited, owner of Tenpin Limited, to remedy the competition concerns identified by the <abbr title=\"Competition and Markets Authority\">CMA<\/abbr> during its phase 1 investigation. The 6 centres are in Bristol, Camberley, Cardiff, Dudley, Castleford and Glasgow. <\/p>\n<p>As a result of the <abbr title=\"Competition and Markets Authority\">CMA<\/abbr>\u2019s acceptance of these undertakings, <abbr title=\"The Original Bowling Company Ltd\">TOBC<\/abbr>\u2019s purchase will not be referred for an in-depth phase 2 investigation.<\/p>\n<p>Before accepting the undertakings, the <abbr title=\"Competition and Markets Authority\">CMA<\/abbr> carefully assessed and consulted publicly on the proposed undertakings, including on the suitability of Essenden Limited a proposed purchaser.
