{"id":65428,"date":"2015-12-14T17:05:24","date_gmt":"2015-12-14T17:05:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=09c0cda1d7b04894da7f8e619f438383"},"modified":"2015-12-14T17:05:24","modified_gmt":"2015-12-14T17:05:24","slug":"news-story-cma-consults-on-cement-price-announcement-order-and-release-of-undertakings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=65428","title":{"rendered":"News story: CMA consults on cement price announcement order and release of undertakings"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The Competition and Markets Authority (<abbr title=\"Competition and Markets Authority\">CMA<\/abbr>) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/news\/cma-consults-on-draft-cement-price-announcement-order\">consulted on the proposed order<\/a>  in September and following changes made as a result of responses received to the first consultation, is now consulting on an amended version.    <\/p>\n<p>The order sets out that Great Britain (<abbr title=\"Great Britain\">GB<\/abbr>) cement suppliers will be prohibited from sending generic price announcement letters to their customers. Instead, any future price announcement letters will have to be specific and relevant to the customers receiving them, including setting out the last unit price paid, the new unit price, and specific details of other charges that apply to the customer.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed order provides detailed information on how these changes are to be introduced. The <abbr title=\"Competition and Markets Authority\">CMA<\/abbr> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/cma-cases\/aggregates-cement-and-ready-mix-concrete-market-investigation#consultation-on-modified-draft-price-announcement-order\">published the notice of its intention to make the proposed price announcement order<\/a> on 11 December 2015 and is inviting comments by 18 December 2015.  <\/p>\n<p>The order results from the <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/webarchive.nationalarchives.gov.uk\/20140402141250\/http:\/www.competition-commission.org.uk\/media-centre\/latest-news\/2014\/Jan\/cc-to-create-new-cement-producer\">Competition Commission\u2019s (<abbr title=\"Competition Commission\">CC<\/abbr>) investigation<\/a> into aggregates, cement and ready-mix concrete which required Lafarge Tarmac to sell one of its cement plants and Hanson to sell one of its ground granulated blast furnace slag (<abbr title=\"ground granulated blast furnace slag\">GGBS<\/abbr>) plants to enhance competition in the cement and <abbr title=\"ground granulated blast furnace slag\">GGBS<\/abbr> markets in <abbr title=\"Great Britain\">GB<\/abbr>.
