{"id":65441,"date":"2015-12-15T09:54:29","date_gmt":"2015-12-15T09:54:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=46d5e2b9aa54e569cff3eaffe8534022"},"modified":"2015-12-15T09:54:29","modified_gmt":"2015-12-15T09:54:29","slug":"news-story-2016-war-pensions-and-allowance-rates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=65441","title":{"rendered":"News story: 2016 war pensions and allowance rates"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>It\u2019s established practice to change these rates annually each April in line with the Consumer Prices Index (<abbr title=\"Consumer Prices Index\">CPI<\/abbr>) inflation figure calculated the previous September.<\/p>\n<p>The <abbr title=\"Consumer Prices Index\">CPI<\/abbr> figure for September 2015 was negative (-0.1%) and so it\u2019s been decided that from April 2016, <abbr title=\"War Pensions Scheme\">WPS<\/abbr> pensions and allowances will remain the same as the 2015 rates. This approach is consistent with the rates of disability benefits paid by the Department for Work and Pensions.  <\/p>\n<p>There has, however, been a small increase in the level of earnings that a war pensioner can receive before certain allowances for employment difficulties are affected.
