{"id":65470,"date":"2015-12-15T12:58:27","date_gmt":"2015-12-15T12:58:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=0ed3b52294c114505298d9ae82e32015"},"modified":"2015-12-15T12:58:27","modified_gmt":"2015-12-15T12:58:27","slug":"news-story-military-aviation-authority-maa-welcomes-new-director","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=65470","title":{"rendered":"News story: Military Aviation Authority (MAA) welcomes new Director"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The <abbr title=\"Military Aviation Authority\">MAA<\/abbr> is pleased to welcome Rear Admiral (<abbr title=\"Rear Admiral\">RAdm<\/abbr>) Paul A Chivers OBE Royal Navy as Director Military Aviation Authority (<abbr title=\"Director Military Aviation Authority\">D MAA<\/abbr>) in succession to Air Vice Marshal (<abbr title=\"Air Vice Marshal\">AVM<\/abbr>) Paul Atherton OBE RAF.<\/p>\n<p><abbr title=\"Rear Admiral\">RAdm<\/abbr> Chivers formally assumed the responsibilities of the role on 8 December 2015. <\/p>\n<p>In his farewell address <abbr title=\"Air Vice Marshal\">AVM<\/abbr> Atherton thanked <abbr title=\"Military Aviation Authority\">MAA<\/abbr> staff, adding: <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">During my tenure within the <abbr title=\"Military Aviation Authority\">MAA<\/abbr>, I have seen engagement with the Regulated Community continue to mature. The <abbr title=\"Military Aviation Authority\">MAA<\/abbr> continues to add value, balancing the regulatory role with a clear understanding of what is required to deliver military aviation capability.  I know that <abbr title=\"Rear Admiral\">RAdm<\/abbr> Chivers can look forward to continued support from the excellent team that he inherits.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><abbr title=\"Rear Admiral\">RAdm<\/abbr> Chivers addressed the staff commenting:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">I am delighted to take over such a capable team from <abbr title=\"Air Vice Marshal\">AVM<\/abbr> Atherton and remain committed to supporting Defence\u2019s ability to deliver aviation in a safe manner.
