{"id":66835,"date":"2016-01-26T09:59:42","date_gmt":"2016-01-26T09:59:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=c850e3fa7cc71442c5e4939f0022a853"},"modified":"2016-01-26T09:59:42","modified_gmt":"2016-01-26T09:59:42","slug":"press-release-creative-industries-worth-almost-10-million-an-hour-to-economy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=66835","title":{"rendered":"Press release: Creative industries worth almost \u00a310 million an hour to economy"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<ul>\n<li>UK\u2019s Creative Industries grew by 8.9 per cent in 2014 &#8211; almost double UK economy as a whole<\/li>\n<li>UK\u2019s Creative Industries generate nearly \u00a39.6million per hour<\/li>\n<li>2016 set to be another blockbuster year for UK\u2019s music, film, video games, TV and publishing sectors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The UK\u2019s creative industries are now worth a record \u00a384.1 billion to the UK economy, figures published today reveal. <\/p>\n<p>British films, music, video games, crafts and publishing are taking a lead role in driving the UK\u2019s economic recovery, according to the latest Government statistics. <\/p>\n<p>The figures show the sector growing at almost twice the rate of the wider UK economy &#8211; generating \u00a39.6million per hour. <\/p>\n<p>And this success is set to last, with a strong line-up of British talent and creativity in 2016 promising yet another blockbuster year ahead.<\/p>\n<p>Minister for Culture Ed Vaizey said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe creative industries are one of the UK\u2019s greatest success stories, with British musicians, artists, fashion brands and films immediately recognisable in nations across the globe.
