{"id":67371,"date":"2016-02-08T12:12:25","date_gmt":"2016-02-08T12:12:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=2a2b6c26df5ce7917c3776233c0fb35a"},"modified":"2016-02-08T12:12:25","modified_gmt":"2016-02-08T12:12:25","slug":"press-release-cma-merger-team-looks-for-new-recruits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=67371","title":{"rendered":"Press release: CMA merger team looks for new recruits"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Large mergers are among the most complex, challenging and high profile work that the Competition and Markets Authority (<abbr title=\"Competition and Markets Authority\">CMA<\/abbr>) undertakes, with recent and current cases involving major sectors and companies, such as telecoms \u2013 with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/cma-cases\/bt-ee-merger-inquiry\">BT\/EE merger<\/a> \u2013 and betting and gaming \u2013 with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/cma-cases\/ladbrokes-coral-group-merger-inquiry\">Ladbrokes\/Coral<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As part of this campaign, the <abbr title=\"Competition and Markets Authority\">CMA<\/abbr> is holding its first ever merger recruitment open evening on 18 February 2016 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. This will offer potential employees a greater insight into the <abbr title=\"Competition and Markets Authority\">CMA<\/abbr>\u2019s work and an opportunity to meet with people who are already performing these roles. <\/p>\n<p>More detailed job descriptions are available on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/cma-mergers-group-recruitment\">mergers recruitment page<\/a> along with the chance to register for the open evening. <\/p>\n<p>Sheldon Mills, Senior Director, Mergers said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>This is a great opportunity to work in a fascinating and important role. Those recruited will be given significant responsibility as they learn how different markets operate across the economy and liaise with leading companies and their advisers as well as other organisations.
