Now, for the first time &#8211; because of live-streaming technology, all trustees are able to benefit, no matter their location.<\/p>\n<p>This is the first live-stream event for the commission, and comes as part of an effort to improve services and interaction through digital technology. The event will also be recorded so that people can watch the replay when it suits.<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"sarah-atkinson-director-of-policy-and-communications-said\">Sarah Atkinson, Director of Policy and Communications said:<\/h4>\n<blockquote>\n<p>We have a number of digital improvements to our services and communications in the pipeline, making it easier for trustees to access our information and services.<\/p>\n<p>By live-streaming our public meetings, we\u2019re hoping to attract a new and wider audience, and invite all interested trustees and charity professionals to join us, whether they\u2019re at home, at work or on the move.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-child\">Hearing directly from us is a good opportunity, particularly for new trustees, to learn more about issues facing the sector, to contribute to discussions, and to hear about the commission\u2019s recent work.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The meeting will include presentations from senior staff on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>tackling abuse and mismanagement &#8211; lessons learnt from our casework<\/li>\n<li>digitising the commission<\/li>\n<li>charity fundraising &#8211; key principles for trustees<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Attendees will also be given an overview of the commission\u2019s recent activities and the opportunity to ask questions of the Chairman, William Shawcross.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting will take place at Southampton Solent University between 11am and 3pm on Monday 29 February, and is free to attend. Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis with a limit of 2 attendees per organisation.
