{"id":67449,"date":"2016-02-10T00:15:00","date_gmt":"2016-02-10T00:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=472dc566e1c2a48ff302dbd45fe18553"},"modified":"2016-02-10T00:15:00","modified_gmt":"2016-02-10T00:15:00","slug":"press-release-minister-urges-uk-schools-to-promote-vital-ip-education","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=67449","title":{"rendered":"Press release: Minister urges UK schools to promote vital IP Education"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p><a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/crackingideas.com\/third_party\/Think%20Kit\">\u2018Think Kit\u2019<\/a> helps pupils understand the importance of protecting and respecting <abbr title=\"Intellectual Property\">IP<\/abbr> and helps students to learn about the commercial benefits of <abbr title=\"Intellectual Property\">IP<\/abbr>.<\/p>\n<p>From today GCSE and NQ students across the country will be given access to specialised intellectual property (<abbr title=\"Intellectual Property\">IP<\/abbr>) training and preparing them for the future and ensuring they understand how to protect their creative works. <\/p>\n<p>\u2018Think Kit\u2019 lesson plans, designed by the Intellectual Property Office (<abbr title=\"Intellectual Property Office\">IPO<\/abbr>) and launched today by the government. This will give teachers of business Studies, media studies, PHSE and music access to brand new online resources and toolkits designed to improve the next generation\u2019s understanding of <abbr title=\"Intellectual Property\">IP<\/abbr>.<\/p>\n<p>The lesson plans and online courses are the result of extensive qualitative research by the <abbr title=\"Intellectual Property Office\">IPO<\/abbr> involving hundreds of teachers across the UK which found that teachers and students wanted to improve their <abbr title=\"Intellectual Property\">IP<\/abbr> knowledge.   <\/p>\n<p>The lesson plans have been funded by The Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (<abbr title=\"Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market\">OHIM<\/abbr>).<\/p>\n<p>Baroness Neville-Rolfe, Minister for intellectual property, said: <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">It is essential that we educate children about the importance of intellectual property rights.
