{"id":67538,"date":"2016-02-11T14:31:29","date_gmt":"2016-02-11T14:31:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=dcf0aec8d6270423a37453078d0f7b8c"},"modified":"2016-02-11T14:31:29","modified_gmt":"2016-02-11T14:31:29","slug":"news-story-army-air-corps-praise-new-facilities-at-rnas-yeovilton","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=67538","title":{"rendered":"News story: Army Air Corps praise new facilities at RNAS Yeovilton"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The new facilities to provide infrastructure to support the co-location of the army\u2019s Wildcat Attack Helicopter Force at <abbr title=\"Royal Naval Air Service\">RNAS<\/abbr> Yeovilton have been praised.<\/p>\n<p>Contract 2, which was completed at the end of last year, delivered technical facilities worth in the region of \u00a314 million to facilitate the re-location of the Army Air Corps from Guttersloh and Dishforth into new accommodation at the Royal Naval Air station Yeovilton. The new facilities included a new Quartermaster\u2019s Store, Motor Transport Workshop facility; secure covered vehicle garaging, car park extensions, ancillary buildings (including new vehicle fuel and wash down point) and a cycle path. <\/p>\n<p>Talking about the new facilities Captain Rich Carter, Quartermaster for 1 Regt Army Air Corps, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>We are really impressed with the new facilities at <abbr title=\"Royal Naval Air Service\">RNAS<\/abbr> Yeovilton. They are modern and spacious and have been cleverly designed to provide completely flexible accommodation which will allow for the Regiment to reorganise in the future, if required.<\/p>\n<p>The Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers workshop is particularly impressive and incorporates modern equipment and facilities to ensure a safe, efficient and regulation compliant working environment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-child\">The new facilities were handed over to us on time and we were impressed with the working relationships and communication between ourselves, the, the <abbr title=\"Defence Infrastructure Organisation\">DIO<\/abbr> Project Team, and the Works Contractors.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Steve Jeffries, <abbr title=\"Defence Infrastructure Organisation\">DIO<\/abbr> Project Manager for Winfra, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><abbr title=\"Defence Infrastructure Organisation\">DIO<\/abbr>\u2019s priority is to support our armed forces by delivering the facilities they need to live, work, train and deploy on operations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-child\">The <abbr title=\"Defence Infrastructure Organisation\">DIO<\/abbr> Project Team has worked hard to deliver these facilities on time and it is hoped that the new buildings will facilitate the smooth integration of the <abbr title=\"Army Air Corps\">AAC<\/abbr> into the Naval Air Station.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>When all of the building work is completed on the site being delivered under Project Winfra, <abbr title=\"Royal Naval Air Service\">RNAS<\/abbr> Yeovilton will provide the necessary infrastructure to support the navy and army Wildcat in a single location and on the same base.
