{"id":67742,"date":"2016-02-18T13:46:37","date_gmt":"2016-02-18T13:46:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=92605c380b18c08560fd01d8da79041e"},"modified":"2016-02-18T13:46:37","modified_gmt":"2016-02-18T13:46:37","slug":"news-story-cleantech-innovators-businesses-showcase-projects-to-investors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=67742","title":{"rendered":"News story: Cleantech innovators: businesses showcase projects to investors"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Innovative businesses addressing the challenge of generating clean, affordable and resilient energy were showcased at an event in London.<\/p>\n<p>The 40 projects funded by Innovate UK under the Energy Catalyst exhibited at the <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cleantechinnovate.com\/\">Cleantech Innovate 2016<\/a> event  at the Royal Institution, London.<\/p>\n<p>The event, sponsored by Innovate UK, saw selected companies pitch to potential investors for funds to support their projects.<\/p>\n<p>It was an opportunity for all the Innovate UK-funded projects to exhibit to investors and network with businesses working in similar fields.<\/p>\n<p>Among the Innovate UK-funded businesses selected to pitch to investors were <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/actblade.com\/\">ACT Blade Ltd<\/a>, which is developing a next-generation wind turbine blade, and <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/www.witt-energy.com\/\">WITT<\/a>, which is working on a scaleable energy harvester that converts motion on land, sea and air into electricity.<\/p>\n<p>The Innovate UK-supported businesses exhibiting at the event all won funding in round 1 of the Energy Catalyst. <\/p>\n<p>The Energy Catalyst was set up by Innovate UK, the <a rel=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.epsrc.ac.uk\/\">Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/department-of-energy-climate-change\">Department of Energy and Climate Change<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/department-for-international-development\">Department for International Development<\/a> to support projects that address the so-called \u2018energy trilemma\u2019 of providing energy that is affordable, resilient and clean.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/clean-and-affordable-energy-projects-address-the-challenge\">Read about the Innovate UK-funded projects exhibiting at Cleantech Innovate 2016.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/innovation-get-details-about-innovate-uk-funding-competitions#catalysts\">Find out more about Catalyst funding<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Projects funded by Innovate UK showcased their efforts to address challenges in energy to investors at Cleantech Innovate 2016 in London.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":8,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[13],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/67742"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/8"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=67742"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/67742\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=67742"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=67742"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=67742"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
