{"id":68141,"date":"2016-03-02T15:15:04","date_gmt":"2016-03-02T15:15:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=e3de10680b9131d094f4c1e80146996d"},"modified":"2016-03-02T15:15:04","modified_gmt":"2016-03-02T15:15:04","slug":"news-story-crime-news-practitioners-needed-to-shape-digital-defence-portal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=68141","title":{"rendered":"News story: Crime news: practitioners needed to shape digital defence portal"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Defence practitioners have the chance to help develop a new defence portal which will be your route into a unified digital criminal case management system.<\/p>\n<p>This system is known as the \u2018Common Platform\u2019 and you can register your interest by email \u2013 see below.<\/p>\n<p>You would be helping yourself and your colleagues by ensuring that the system works as well as possible for digital practitioners.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"how-will-the-common-platform-work\">How will the \u2018Common Platform\u2019 work?<\/h3>\n<p>The \u2018Common Platform\u2019 allows defence practitioners to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>access essential criminal case information<\/li>\n<li>interact with the prosecution and courts<\/li>\n<li>download initial disclosure of the prosecution case (IDPC) <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"who-is-responsible-for-this-work\">Who is responsible for this work?<\/h3>\n<p>The Criminal Justice System Common Platform Programme (CJSCPP) is a joint initiative between Her Majesty\u2019s Courts and Tribunals Service (HMCTS) and the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"what-would-my-role-be\">What would my role be?<\/h3>\n<p>Each week a new research activity is set and an update provided outlining the outcome of the previous week\u2019s research. A number of practitioners have already made valuable contributions.<\/p>\n<p>This has involved taking part in focus groups and workshops, providing feedback on prototype screens, testing software and allowing developers to observe them at work.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"what-are-the-benefits\">What are the benefits?<\/h3>\n<p>The advantage is that the user is put at the centre of the system\u2019s design.
