{"id":68329,"date":"2016-03-08T13:33:28","date_gmt":"2016-03-08T13:33:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=5428ad9cf6c7816e6cf73414a2aeeac0"},"modified":"2016-03-08T13:33:28","modified_gmt":"2016-03-08T13:33:28","slug":"news-story-army-medics-move-into-refurbished-homes-at-keogh-barracks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=68329","title":{"rendered":"News story: Army medics move into refurbished homes at Keogh Barracks"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Lance Corporal Luke Tierney from 4 Armoured Medical Regiment and his wife Christine Tierney were among the first families to move into the revamped homes.  <\/p>\n<p>The couple, who recently returned to the UK from postings in Germany, were presented with keys by the Defence Infrastructure Organisation\u2019s (<abbr title=\"Defence Infrastructure Organisation\">DIO<\/abbr>) Army Basing Programme Director Mark Duddy, just days after getting married. <\/p>\n<p>Speaking about his new home, Lance Corporal Tierney said: <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">It\u2019s pretty spacious, the rooms are a really good size. We\u2019re looking forward to living here, it\u2019s brilliant.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The \u00a32.5 million project, which was delivered by contractor CarillionAmey on behalf of <abbr title=\"Defence Infrastructure Organisation\">DIO<\/abbr>, involved extensively refurbishing 28 homes. Each has benefited from a modern new kitchen, new bathroom suite, new carpets and redecoration. Energy efficiency has been improved through the replacement of roofs, windows, doors and the addition of external wall insulation.<\/p>\n<p>The outside area surrounding the homes has also been improved with new patio areas, new sheds for extra storage and improved fencing. This refurbishment project is a great example of how we\u2019re supporting our armed forces by investing in accommodation.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Daniel Easthope, Managing Director, CarillionAmey added: <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">It\u2019s an important milestone for the families of 4 Armoured Medical Regiment at Keogh Barracks. This was a major refurbishment programme delivered by CarillionAmey on time and within budget, working closely with the <abbr title=\"Defence Infrastructure Organisation\">DIO<\/abbr>. An excellent result for all.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Major Rob O\u2019Brien, 4 Armoured Medical Regiment Quartermaster at Keogh Barracks, said: <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">I previously lived in one of these service family homes back in 1989. The refurbishment carried out by CarillionAmey on behalf of the <abbr title=\"Defence Infrastructure Organisation\">DIO<\/abbr> looks superb.
