{"id":69353,"date":"2016-04-06T17:11:12","date_gmt":"2016-04-06T17:11:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=2b1fbcb971175af2cd2d6abb2eae6c02"},"modified":"2016-04-06T17:11:12","modified_gmt":"2016-04-06T17:11:12","slug":"news-story-business-secretary-confirms-formal-tata-steel-sale-process","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=69353","title":{"rendered":"News story: Business Secretary confirms formal Tata Steel sale process"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<ul>\n<li>Business Secretary Sajid Javid meets Tata Chairman Cyrus Mistry in Mumbai<\/li>\n<li>government will work with potential buyers and offer help<\/li>\n<li>interested parties have already come forward<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Business Secretary Sajid Javid has confirmed that the formal sale process for Tata\u2019s UK operations will begin by Monday 11 April, and the company has committed to providing sufficient time for the process to be completed.<\/p>\n<p>The news comes as the Business Secretary met with Tata\u2019s group chairman Cyrus Mistry in Mumbai today (6 April 2016), where they talked through the details of the upcoming sales process and discussed timescales for any potential sale<\/p>\n<p>Business Secretary Sajid Javid said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>A number of people have already started coming forward and I think more will do so once the formal process begins.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-child\">We\u2019re listening, we\u2019ve worked on this for a while, and we want to work with any potential buyer to see how we can help. The government will do everything it can to find a viable, long-term solution for Port Talbot and British steel.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Government stands ready to offer support to all potential buyers on various issues, including power, procurement and plant.
