{"id":69438,"date":"2016-04-08T14:37:00","date_gmt":"2016-04-08T14:37:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=4a12c0d6a7c7f87509e5527b520d4d55"},"modified":"2016-04-08T14:37:00","modified_gmt":"2016-04-08T14:37:00","slug":"news-story-reappointment-of-members-of-the-civil-aviation-authority-board","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=69438","title":{"rendered":"News story: Reappointment of members of the Civil Aviation Authority Board"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The Department for Transport today (8 April 2016) announced the reappointment of 2 members of the Civil Aviation Authority (<abbr title=\"Civil Aviation Authority\">CAA<\/abbr>) Board \u2014 David King and Graham Ward, <abbr title=\"Commander of the Order of the British Empire\">CBE<\/abbr><\/p>\n<p>David King and Graham Ward both joined the <abbr title=\"Civil Aviation Authority\">CAA<\/abbr> as non-executive members in September 2013. David was formerly the Chief Inspector of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/air-accidents-investigation-branch\">UK Air Accidents Investigation Branch (<abbr title=\"Air Accidents Investigation Branch\">AAIB<\/abbr>)<\/a> where he was responsible for hundreds of investigations, many involving large public transport aircraft. Graham was, until June 2015, the first Chief Commissioner of the <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/icai.independent.gov.uk\/\">Independent Commission for Aid Impact<\/a>. He spent 36 years, including 24 as a partner, with PricewaterhouseCoopers and is a former Deputy Chairman of the Financial Reporting Council, President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and President of the International Federation of Accountants.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to their role at the <abbr title=\"Civil Aviation Authority\">CAA<\/abbr>, David serves as Chairman of the Board Safety Review Committee for Cathay Pacific Airways and is a visiting Professor at Cranfield University.
