{"id":69734,"date":"2016-04-20T08:08:49","date_gmt":"2016-04-20T08:08:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=10300890bc645633e9dabded2ec5e54f"},"modified":"2016-04-20T08:08:49","modified_gmt":"2016-04-20T08:08:49","slug":"news-story-developing-better-wireless-communications-technology-for-the-military","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=69734","title":{"rendered":"News story: Developing better wireless communications technology for the military"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Through Centre for Defence Enterprise (<abbr title=\"Centre for Defence Enterprise\">CDE<\/abbr>) funding, <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/www.iqhq.co.uk\/\">IQHQ<\/a> has designed, developed and successfully demonstrated a new military wireless communication wideband radio system.<\/p>\n<p>Later this year IQHQ will demonstrate the system to the US and French government in conjunction with the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (<abbr title=\"Defence Science and Technology Laboratory\">Dstl<\/abbr>). <\/p>\n<p>In future, this work could provide the Ministry of Defence (MOD) with more resilient, reliable, agile and more capable wireless communications technology.<\/p>\n<p>Neil Bourhill, Managing Director, IQHQ says: \u201cIQHQ\u2019s first ever contract was a <abbr title=\"Centre for Defence Enterprise\">CDE<\/abbr> contract. From that seed-corn work the company has grown tremendously to now, where the company\u2019s technical achievements are influencing MOD policy in the area of future wireless communications. <abbr title=\"Centre for Defence Enterprise\">CDE<\/abbr> was a lifeline and a strategic platform for IQHQ, opening doors into cutting-edge research programmes under <abbr title=\"Defence Science and Technology Laboratory\">Dstl<\/abbr>\u2019s direction.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Founded in 2009 and based in Malvern, Worcestershire, IQHQ is an <abbr title=\"small and medium sized enterprise\">SME<\/abbr> that develops state-of-the-art, military-grade radio technologies. It has a range of patents and inventions in key technologies such as very high-resilience receiver design, spectrum management and through-wall penetration.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"about-cde\">About <abbr title=\"Centre for Defence Enterprise\">CDE<\/abbr><br \/>\n<\/h2>\n<p><abbr title=\"Centre for Defence Enterprise\">CDE<\/abbr> funds novel, high-risk, high-potential-benefit research.
