{"id":69844,"date":"2016-04-22T08:02:12","date_gmt":"2016-04-22T08:02:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=41848ec2d5f2cfd3876f5c356975a00e"},"modified":"2016-04-22T08:02:12","modified_gmt":"2016-04-22T08:02:12","slug":"press-release-statement-from-dfe-about-key-stage-1-tests","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=69844","title":{"rendered":"Press release: Statement from DfE about key stage 1 tests"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Following an urgent investigation into the impact of the accidental publication of a live key stage 1 (<abbr title=\"key stage 1\">KS1<\/abbr>) grammar, punctuation and spelling test, the Department for Education (<abbr title=\"Department for Education\">DfE<\/abbr>) has issued the following statement:<\/p>\n<p>Schools Minister Nick Gibb said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>On being informed of the breach yesterday, I ordered the Standards and Testing Agency (<abbr title=\"Standards and Testing Agency\">STA<\/abbr>) to undertake an investigation into how this breach occurred. I have also commissioned a root and branch inquiry into the operations of the <abbr title=\"Standards and Testing Agency\">STA<\/abbr>.<\/p>\n<p>In the meantime, we have worked swiftly to find a solution to the administration of this year\u2019s <abbr title=\"key stage 1\">KS1<\/abbr> grammar, punctuation and spelling tests. To remove any uncertainty and clarify the situation for schools, I have decided that we will remove the requirement on them to administer the <abbr title=\"key stage 1\">KS1<\/abbr> grammar, punctuation and spelling test for this year only.<\/p>\n<p>Schools will still need to submit a teacher assessment judgement based on pupils\u2019 work in the classroom as has always been the case. However there will be no requirement this year for them to administer the <abbr title=\"key stage 1\">KS1<\/abbr> grammar, punctuation and spelling test or use the result as part of that assessment.
