{"id":70087,"date":"2016-04-29T13:02:40","date_gmt":"2016-04-29T13:02:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=3b37d60680b3d28b0298cf2355489a0a"},"modified":"2016-04-29T13:02:40","modified_gmt":"2016-04-29T13:02:40","slug":"news-story-crime-news-sending-prosecution-documents-in-the-crown-court-dcs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=70087","title":{"rendered":"News story: Crime news: sending prosecution documents in the Crown Court DCS"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Defence practitioners can now send defence and application documents directly to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) from within the Digital Case System (DCS).<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"how-does-this-work\">How does this work?<\/h3>\n<p>Defence practitioners simply need to look for the green \u2018Send to CPS\u2019 button. This is in the same section of the DCS where they upload case documents and applications.<\/p>\n<p>Using the green button allows the document to be sent securely to the CPS case management system. The CPS system will then automatically flag that there is an \u2018action-task\u2019 which needs to be reviewed.<\/p>\n<p>The following DCS sections can be used by defence practitioners in this way to send uploaded documents directly to the CPS:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>basis of plea \u2013 section C<\/li>\n<li>defence statement \u2013 section D<\/li>\n<li>expert reports \u2013 section M<\/li>\n<li>applications \u2013 section Q<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"custody-time-limits-and-bail-applications\">Custody time limits and bail applications<\/h3>\n<p>Defence practitioners should continue sending items relating to custody time limits and bail applications to the CPS via email as well as uploading the documents to the relevant section in DCS.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"what-are-the-benefits\">What are the benefits?<\/h3>\n<p>Practitioners and advocates will no longer need to use CJSM Secure eMail outside the DCS to inform the CPS that they have uploaded documents or applications. They can be confident that their document will have been sent securely and that an \u2018action-task\u2019 has been raised to review.<\/p>\n<p>When a document has been sent successfully to the CPS a \u2018green tick\u2019 will appear.
