More than 25 innovative businesses working in the energy sector and supported by Innovate UK and the Department of Energy and Climate Change<\/a> (DECC) are showcasing their technologies to potential customers, partners and investors at the 2016 All Energy conference in Glasgow.<\/p>\n

Among the businesses are Ceres Power Ltd<\/a>, which is working with Catal International to improve the efficiency of its Steel Cell fuel cell technology for remote power generation, and ACT Blade Ltd<\/a>, which is developing a lighter more cost and energy-efficient wind turbine blade.<\/p>\n

Other business showcasing their technologies include Recycling Technologies<\/a>, which is developing a technology to convert plastic waste into a fuel that can be used to generate electricity, and ICAX Ltd<\/a>, which is developing heat sharing networks for buildings.<\/p>\n

Businesses address energy challenges<\/h2>\n

Rob Saunders, head of energy for Innovate UK, said:<\/p>\n

The businesses that will be showcasing their technologies are a snapshot of ones that have either been supported by us or by DECC over recent years.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\n

Through the event we are hoping to facilitate connections with new collaborators, first customers and potential investors.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\n

We connect and fund hundreds of businesses that are addressing the challenges our energy systems face as well as developing significant commercial opportunities for the UK economy.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Each business has the opportunity to pitch for 5 minutes in a fast-paced event.<\/p>\n

Visitors will meet the businesses during networking sessions and to hear more about Innovate UK\u2019s work with Catapult centres, the Knowledge Transfer Network and the Enterprise Europe Network.<\/p>\n
