Do you have experience of the challenges that face other SMEs within procurement? If so we want to hear from you.<\/p>\n<p>The Crown Commercial Service are currently looking for volunteers  to join their Small Business Panel. This is a group that exists specifically to advise the government on how to help small and medium sized businesses win public sector contracts. <\/p>\n<p>Although the role is unpaid, there are a number of benefits to being a Small Business Panel member including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The chance to feed your ideas and opinions directly to government and Ministers <\/li>\n<li>Networking and knowledge sharing with other small business leaders <\/li>\n<li>The opportunity to directly create policies that will have a big impact on small businesses<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And, with the government committing to spending 33% of its goods and services budget with SMEs by 2020, the advice and guidance of the Small Business Panel has never been more vital.<\/p>\n<p>Small Business Policy Lead for CCS, Cass Chideock, said: <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">If you\u2019ve had significant leadership experience in at least one small to medium\u2010sized business, and you have a good grasp of commercial issues, particularly with regards to selling  to government, then we\u2019d love to hear from you.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Once panel members have been selected, quarterly meetings will take place in London and last approximately 2\u00ad hours.
