{"id":70688,"date":"2016-05-18T15:06:21","date_gmt":"2016-05-18T15:06:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=b308dd40deb335edfecfb590c5a00e73"},"modified":"2016-05-18T15:06:21","modified_gmt":"2016-05-18T15:06:21","slug":"news-story-accountant-convicted-of-providing-unqualified-immigration-advice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=70688","title":{"rendered":"News story: Accountant convicted of providing unqualified immigration advice"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Mrs Aysel Engulzekli, 55, of Enfield, North London, was sentenced on 13 May 2015 to 8 months\u2019 imprisonment suspended for 2 years at the Central Criminal Court, having pleaded guilty to 4 charges of providing unregulated immigration advice.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs Engulzekli was also ordered to pay \u00a3500 compensation, \u00a31,000 costs and a \u00a3100 victim surcharge.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs Engulzekli traded as ADA Associates, Hertford Road, Enfield, North London, where she gave immigration advice to her clients.<\/p>\n<p>Upon sentencing, the Judge, Recorder Mr Lithman QC described his actions:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI regard these offences as serious. Immigrants often find themselves in a vulnerable position.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe applicant was prevented from getting proper advice and his application was refused.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou have aptly demonstrated what can happen when unqualified individuals hold out as immigration advisers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Speaking about the decision, Deputy Immigration Services Commissioner Dr. Ian Leigh said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIllegally providing immigration advice is a serious offence, and the sentence handed down today reflects this.
