In 2002 he was awarded a CBE for services to music. His interest in Art &amp; Design\u200b \u200bled him to become a Trustee of the V&amp;A Museum \u200bwhere he also sat on the board of V&amp;A Enterprises\u200b.  Rob was a founding Trustee and a principal fund-raiser for Youth Music. He is a longtime supporter and Trustee of \u2018Watts Gallery &#8211; Artists\u2019 Village\u2019, dedicated to the work of the Victorian artist and visionary G.F. Watts and his wife Mary. He \u200b\u200bdonated a collection of over 4,000 19th Century photographs \u200bto the Gallery depicting the lives of Victorian artists. He recently retired as Chair of The Theatres Trust and is a Trustee of \u2018Handel &amp; Hendrix in London\u2019. Rob lectures in music and art history, is a visiting Professor at London Metropolitan University and the University of the Arts, London.
