{"id":71493,"date":"2016-06-17T17:23:00","date_gmt":"2016-06-17T17:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=a5c717c466d2868ae68802a23c3e9d52"},"modified":"2016-06-17T17:23:00","modified_gmt":"2016-06-17T17:23:00","slug":"news-story-dvsa-wins-top-digital-award-for-collaboration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=71493","title":{"rendered":"News story: DVSA wins top digital award for collaboration"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>In September 2015, <abbr title=\"Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency\">DVSA<\/abbr> and Kainos successfully switched all MOT garages in Great Britain over to the new MOT testing service.<\/p>\n<p>This achievement was recognised with the Cross-Sector Digital Collaboration award at the DL100 Awards ceremony in London on 15 June 2016.<\/p>\n<p>The <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/www.digileaders100.com\/\">DL100 Awards<\/a> recognise achievements in the digital industry, celebrating both teams and individuals that are at the forefront of digital transformation.<\/p>\n<p>The success of the project is down to continuous collaboration between users and the project team, made up of staff from <abbr title=\"Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency\">DVSA<\/abbr> and Kainos. As a result, the digital service is easy to use, flexible and less expensive, and innovative for the public sector.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"mot-testing-service\">MOT testing service<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"image embedded\">\n<div class=\"img\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"31.5 million  MOT test results recorded since launch,  80,000 MOT testers using the service, and 22,700 garages using the service\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.publishing.service.gov.uk\/government\/uploads\/system\/uploads\/image_data\/file\/53558\/mot-testing-service.png\"><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Since launching, the service has recorded 31.5 million tests. Garages issue 150,000 MOT test results every day, which is more than 250 tests per minute.<\/p>\n<p>The system is in constant use by more than 80,000 MOT testers in 22,700 garages across Great Britain.<\/p>\n<p>The Government Digital Service also hailed the MOT testing service as \u2018one of the best <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/service-manual\/agile-delivery\">agile projects<\/a>\u2019 in a recent review.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"what-mot-testers-say-about-the-service\">What MOT testers say about the service<\/h2>\n<p>This echoes feedback from users of the MOT system who\u2019ve said the following:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">Massive improvements over the first system and much easier to use.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">This system is easier to use compared to the old system, much better and faster.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2 id=\"fantastic-achievement\">\u201cFantastic achievement\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>Alex Fiddes, <abbr title=\"Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency\">DVSA<\/abbr> MOT Group Service Manager, received the award on behalf of <abbr title=\"Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency\">DVSA<\/abbr>. He said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>I\u2019m thrilled that our joint efforts to successfully develop and introduce a modern service for MOT garages and testers has been recognised by this award.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-child\">This is a fantastic achievement. However, this not the end of the process.
