{"id":71931,"date":"2016-07-04T16:10:00","date_gmt":"2016-07-04T16:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=f6cd177a89af30da23b8555bd21059ea"},"modified":"2016-07-04T16:10:00","modified_gmt":"2016-07-04T16:10:00","slug":"news-story-new-practice-paper-on-the-impact-of-aid-interventions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=71931","title":{"rendered":"News story: New practice paper on the impact of aid interventions"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The new publication from the National School of Government International (NSGI): <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/sclr.stabilisationunit.gov.uk\/publications\/the-national-school-of-government-international-series\">Increasing the Impact of Aid Interventions to Support Centre of Government Reforms<\/a>, was developed in partnership with the <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/www.instituteforgovernment.org.uk\/\">Institute for Government (IfG)<\/a> and explores the emerging NSGI approach of using practitioner-to-practitioner support, and adapting that to local priorities and the local context.<\/p>\n<p>The use of practitioner-to-practitioner support may provide a useful framework for improving the effectiveness of the design, implementation and monitoring of aid interventions. The paper identifies three categories of interdependent, non-linear success factors that should be applied throughout any engagement with a recipient government:<\/p>\n<figure class=\"image embedded\">\n<div class=\"img\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Diagram showing the success factors map onto three elements of the NSGI Approach\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.publishing.service.gov.uk\/government\/uploads\/system\/uploads\/image_data\/file\/54016\/Increasing-the-impact-of-aid-interventions-to-support-centre-of-government-reforms.jpg\"><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>On Tuesday 14 June the NSGI and the IfG held a roundtable discussion of the NSGI\u2019s new publication, and an accompanying paper published as part of the IfG\u2019s \u201cInside Out\u201d series: <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/www.instituteforgovernment.org.uk\/publications\/improving-government-effectiveness-across-world\">Improving Government Effectiveness Across The World: Can Lessons From The UK\u2019s Reform Experience Help?<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The discussion was attended by a mix of key Whitehall personnel and academics from both the development and UK reform fields, and a range of implementers.
