{"id":72016,"date":"2016-07-06T11:12:04","date_gmt":"2016-07-06T11:12:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=c2091516c07e81913f41468cd6aed5b7"},"modified":"2016-07-06T11:12:04","modified_gmt":"2016-07-06T11:12:04","slug":"news-story-police-officers-2016-pay-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=72016","title":{"rendered":"News story: Police officers 2016 pay award"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The recommendations of both the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/police-remuneration-review-body\">Police Remuneration Review Body (<abbr title=\"Police Remuneration Review Body\">PRRB<\/abbr>)<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/review-body-on-senior-salaries\">Senior Salaries Review Body (<abbr title=\"Senior Salaries Review Body\">SSRB<\/abbr>)<\/a> have been accepted in full, meaning from 1 September 2016 police officers will receive:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a 1% increase to base pay for all ranks<\/li>\n<li>a 1% increase to the London weighting payment<\/li>\n<li>a 1% increase to the dog handlers\u2019 allowance<\/li>\n<li>increased flexibility for South East forces to vary location-based allowances<\/li>\n<li>alignment of mileage expenses to standard <abbr title=\"HM Revenue and Customs\">HMRC<\/abbr> rates<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Home Secretary, Theresa May, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Police officers up and down the country do a fantastic job with a tremendous sense of duty, fighting crime and keeping us safe and it is right they are rewarded.<\/p>\n<p>The <abbr title=\"Police Remuneration Review Body\">PRRB<\/abbr> and the <abbr title=\"Senior Salaries Review Body\">SSRB<\/abbr> brought forward affordable proposals while balancing the need to recruit and retain the very best officers.
