{"id":72315,"date":"2016-07-14T09:04:00","date_gmt":"2016-07-14T09:04:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=e77bf74e4b1b2dad6ceeaf8265e89bed"},"modified":"2016-07-14T09:04:00","modified_gmt":"2016-07-14T09:04:00","slug":"news-story-uk-government-boosts-scottish-monkfish-industry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=72315","title":{"rendered":"News story: UK Government boosts Scottish monkfish industry"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>This will help the Scottish industry manage their fishing activity.<\/p>\n<p>The industry had been lobbying for the change to allow it to trade quotas with Belgium to allow increased fishing of monkfish.<\/p>\n<p>The decision comes after a meeting on Tuesday 12 July of the Marine Management Organisation (MMO) and is based on the uptake of the rays  and skates quotas being lower this year than last.<\/p>\n<p>Up to 25 tonnes of skates and rays can now be traded internationally. The position will be reviewed later in the year.<\/p>\n<p>Secretary of State of State for Scotland David Mundell said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">This is good news for the Scottish fishing industry, and I am really pleased that the UK Government has been able to push this forward.
