{"id":72517,"date":"2016-07-19T15:04:09","date_gmt":"2016-07-19T15:04:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=a9db0b93773247b850aa6a8c170508c0"},"modified":"2016-07-19T15:04:09","modified_gmt":"2016-07-19T15:04:09","slug":"news-story-accreditation-complete-for-first-teaching-from-september-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=72517","title":{"rendered":"News story: Accreditation complete for first teaching from September 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Ofqual is pleased to confirm that all <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/accreditation-of-gcses-as-a-levels-for-teaching-from-2016\">specifications for GCSE, AS and A level subjects to be taught from September 2016<\/a> have now been accredited.<\/p>\n<p>The process is underway for accrediting GCSEs, AS and A levels for first teaching from September 2017. The first of those qualifications has been accredited.<\/p>\n<p>As with the 2016 subjects, we have produced a 2017 table which shows <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/accreditation-of-gcses-as-a-levels-for-teaching-from-2017\/gcse-as-and-a-level-subjects-accredited-to-be-taught-from-2017\">the status of specifications submitted to Ofqual<\/a>. The table will be updated as soon as there is any change in either the submission date or the specification status.<\/p>\n<p>Accreditation is the last stage of a necessarily lengthy and involved process that involves the development of content and regulatory requirements that all new GCSEs, AS and A levels must meet, as explained by Julie Swan, Executive Director for General Qualifications, in her <a rel=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/ofqual.blog.gov.uk\/2016\/05\/19\/gcse-as-and-a-level-reform-accreditation-enters-its-third-phase\/\">blog about the third phase of accreditation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, Phil Beach our Director of Strategic Relationships for General Qualifications wrote a <a rel=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/ofqual.blog.gov.uk\/2015\/09\/24\/gsce-as-and-a-level-reform-the-accreditation-process\/\">blog about our accreditation process<\/a>.
