{"id":73125,"date":"2016-08-10T14:23:24","date_gmt":"2016-08-10T14:23:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=371bfaa2e8383026720961e1a8628603"},"modified":"2016-08-10T14:23:24","modified_gmt":"2016-08-10T14:23:24","slug":"news-story-cma-consults-on-records-management-merger-undertakings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=73125","title":{"rendered":"News story: CMA consults on records management merger undertakings"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Iron Mountain and Recall both provide records management services, which comprise the storage and retrieval of paper and hard copy records, and physical offsite data protection services, which involve the storage and retrieval of data and media on tapes\/discs.<\/p>\n<p>On 16 June, the Competition and Markets Authority (<abbr title=\"Competition and Markets Authority\">CMA<\/abbr>) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/news\/scottish-sales-required-after-records-management-merger\">announced<\/a> that Iron Mountain would have to sell Recall\u2019s existing operations in Aberdeen and Dundee, known as C21 Data Services, in order to preserve competition.<\/p>\n<p>Iron Mountain has agreed to offer undertakings to sell the entire share capital of C21 Data Services to a buyer to be approved by the <abbr title=\"Competition and Markets Authority\">CMA<\/abbr>.
