{"id":73791,"date":"2016-09-05T09:00:11","date_gmt":"2016-09-05T09:00:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=6dcb52e43421f969fd97602a8e8e8bcb"},"modified":"2016-09-05T09:00:11","modified_gmt":"2016-09-05T09:00:11","slug":"news-story-measuring-social-value-series-of-case-studies-launched","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=73791","title":{"rendered":"News story: Measuring social value: series of case studies launched"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The Office of Civil Society has funded a total of \u00a330,000 (including VAT), to 8 different external providers with expertise in social value and\/or impact management, to work with commissioners in practically applying the <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/www.legislation.gov.uk\/ukpga\/2012\/3\/enacted\">Public Services (Social Value Act) 2012<\/a>. This work was known as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/social-value-act-information-and-resources\/social-value-act-information-and-resources#introduction\">Social Value Implementation and Measurement Project<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Each provider has documented their experience through a case study. This week sees the first 2 of the series to be published on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/social-value-implementation-and-measurement-project-case-studies\">GOV.UK<\/a>. The providers ranged from an adult social care provider to forums supporting voluntary organisations.<\/p>\n<p>Each of these organisations worked in partnership with a public sector organisation to either:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>create a social value framework<\/li>\n<li>follow a procurement opportunity<\/li>\n<li>conduct a cross-organisational social value review<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The aim was to help embed social value into their processes. The remaining case studies will be rolled out between October and December 2016.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"practical-and-applicable\">Practical and applicable<\/h2>\n<p>The case studies provide real accounts of what can be involved at the forefront of generating social value. As well as giving a practical insight, the case studies are intended to serve as starting points for initiating new ideas and for sparking innovative thinking.
