{"id":73865,"date":"2016-09-06T15:47:44","date_gmt":"2016-09-06T15:47:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=a5bda14a8161ed9e839a46401ea1327c"},"modified":"2016-09-06T15:47:44","modified_gmt":"2016-09-06T15:47:44","slug":"news-story-undertaking-provided-for-witnesses-in-undercover-policing-inquiry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=73865","title":{"rendered":"News story: Undertaking provided for witnesses in undercover policing inquiry"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Individuals providing certain evidence to the Undercover Policing Inquiry can do so without fear of prosecution, the Attorney General Jeremy Wright QC MP has confirmed.<\/p>\n<p>The undertaking means that those who give evidence to the Inquiry and who meet the terms of the undertaking will not face prosecution as a result of the evidence that they give. It does not prevent prosecutors from following up evidence they receive by other means.<\/p>\n<p>The written undertaking was provided at the request of the Inquiry Chairman, Sir Christopher Pitchford.<\/p>\n<p>Attorney General Jeremy Wright QC said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Inquiry\u2019s priority is to establish the facts about undercover policing and I hope this undertaking will help leave no stone unturned.
